English as a Second Language Program (ESL)
The ESL program at WIC is for adults who are 18 years of age and above*. The ESL program is an outcome-based, goal-oriented and research-based program. There will be an intensive two to three days of orientation (required), appraisal, testing and other admission processes. Students take nationally recognized TABE pre-tests and post-tests. The ESL program includes:
- English writing, listening, and reading skills from basic to academic level
- Role playing to improve English in social situations
- Conversation practice
- Technology skills
- General life skills
- Job-prep skills
- Citizenship Prep

On-Site English Classes at Your Job:
WIC is proud to be the ONLY ESL school in Wichita to provide employers with on-site English classes for their non-English speaking staff. We will work with the employer to tailor the program according to the employers’ requirements. Contact us if you work for or are an employer that might be interested.
*Students who are under the age of 18 are welcome to attend during the summer and school year. The tuition for these students is $40 per semester.
